Our Schnauzer Family
As Pixel Pets celebrates it's one year anniversary, I wanted to share the story of each member of our beloved schnauzer family. Ace, Lucy, and Rosie were the fur babies that inspired me to turn animal artwork into a service that I could offer to the world.
The first project that they were featured in was the piece I named "Schnauzer Trio." This was my second piece of pet art, the second to feature Ace, and the first to feature Lucy and Rosie. After the "wow'ed" reaction my previous artwork received from friends and visitors to our home, I realized pet art was universal. Everybody has a favorite pet or animal! Our beloved schnauzer family helped me realize that. And thus, Pixel Pets was born!
Ace the (not-so-miniature) schnauzer came into my life on October 30th. My then girlfriend (now fiancé) got me a miniature schnauzer for my birthday present. The family we adopted him from sent us many pictures and videos of our puppy. His beautiful face and playful nature made me excited to finally bring him home and make him part of the family. When we finally brought him home, he quickly warmed up to my lady and I. He's been my best friend since. His first appearance in a piece of pet art (before Pixel Pets had a name) was a birthday present for my lady. Personality-wise, Ace is quite affectionate and a real man's dog. He loves going on walks and playing with his favorite toy, a squirrel version of Bob Ross from Barkbox. He loves the toy so much, we got him a second one for the inevitable day that his original is ripped to threads.
Lucy the Schnoodle came four years later. She was a Craigslist dog that my lady found. She fell in love and brought her home shortly after. Lucy was quite timid in the beginning. (Ace made sure she knew who the boss was.) But today, she is extremely energetic AND athletic. She's like a kangaroo with the speed of a cheetah! She loves to play chase with the other two and regularly wrestles with her younger sister, Rosie. Despite her rambunctious nature, she is by far the most amorous of the trio. She also snuggles aggressively on the bed, and doesn't spend much time by herself. She loves company, and her company always loves her. (Everyone loves Lucy! No really, she is the stealer of hearts.)
Rosie the miniature schnauzer joined the family about 3 months after we brought Lucy home. Rosie is from the same family as Ace. She’s also the firecracker of the trio. After just days of being home, she quickly began asserting herself; something Ace seems to respect. Rosie is typically the one to start a play-fight, with either Ace or Lucy. (Most of the time, Lucy)
Ace naturally gravitates to me as he's spent more time with me than anyone else. Lucy loves everybody and doesn't seem to have a favorite. (Although she's my fiancé's favorite of the three), and Rosie is Matthew's favorite. (The handsome young man on the right of the "Schnauzer Trio" piece)
The three are still so young and full of life, love, and good energy. We couldn’t be more grateful to have them in our lives.
